TASHIA SENN COLLECTIONS Debuts at Studio Gallery &
2009 Fashion Beauty & Lifestyle Expo
WASHINGTON, DC October 14, 2009
Local designer Tashia Senn launched her line of elegant women’s evening wear, TASHIA SENN COLLECTIONS, before a packed Studio Gallery on October 3, 2009.
The 2010 Spring / Summer collection is an homage to the clean lines and romance of Audrey Hepburn’s unforgettable silhouette and Diana Ross’ striking iconic glamour. Among the items in her signature line there are breathtaking floor length ball gowns, flirty cocktail dresses and hand-beaded one-piece jumpers. The pieces were all made with 100% silk including luxurious Crepe de Sheen, Dupioni, Silk Charmeuse and Duchess Satin adorned with French lace, Swarovski Crystals and semi-precious stones.
The launch event was a special night for DC’s creative community with support from area artists, businesses, nonprofits, fashion advocates and bloggers. The event received enthusiastic coverage from fashion advocates, professional stylists and well-known local blogs including Daily Candy DC and DC This Week.
Support of fellow creatives and businesses throughout the city included Executive Chef Teddy Folkman of Granville Moore’s on H St in NE, who catered the launch with a menu of dishes donated by fellow Atlas District chefs Matthew Richardson of The Argonaut and Pablo Cardoso Executive Chef, H St Country Club. The delectable menu was paired with Thailand’s delicious Chang beer and sumptuous cocktails stirred by The Park.
The launch event was followed by Tashia’s participation in the Fashion Beauty & Lifestyle Expo the following weekend October 10 at the Grand Hyatt. Invited by The Greater Washington DC Fashion Chamber of Commerce and CW Network, Tashia debuted her work to a bustling ballroom along side designers Betsey Johnson, Ed Hardy, and Tsyndyma.
